Of the 26 trainees enrolled in the 7th batch, 23 successfully completed the course, while three could not complete the training due to personal reasons. The 8th batch is preparing for assessment and training is also underway for the 8th and 9th batches. Admission for the 10th batch is currently open.

Addressing the course completed trainees, Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar congratulated them on completing the course and encouraged them to work hard towards their future goals. He reminded them that the journey towards success is just as important as reaching the destination. He also stressed the need for clear goals, hard work and commitment, advising the trainees not to wait for opportunities but to work towards achieving their ambitions. He appreciated CDS for its efforts to support young people and the local community and encouraged the organisation to continue its work. He also expressed concern that many talented and educated young people in Churachandpur were unable to make full use of their abilities. Referring to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, he encouraged the youth to take responsibility for contributing to the country's development. He further appreciated IndiGo CSR for supporting the training programme in Churachandpur district and urged the media to give greater attention to positive developments and good work in society.

He advised them not to expect everything to be easy after receiving their offer letters. Encouraging them to dream big and work towards their goals, he also urged them to remain faithful to their beliefs wherever they might be posted. He offered prayers for the trainees and also for the future plans of the training centre and CDS.

He reminded them that success requires hard work and perseverance and encouraged them to remain God-fearing throughout their careers.

Lamcy Haokip highlighted that most of the trainees who completed the course have already secured jobs, while placement interviews are continuing for those who are still seeking employment.

As part of Swachhata Hi Seva 2026, Community Development Society (CDS) organised three activities at CDS Skill Centre, 1st Floor, Synod House, Hill Town, Lamka, Churachandpur District, Manipur on 29 and 30 September 2026.

The activities were organised under the Vocational Training Centre for Youth, a project implemented by CDS with support from IndiGo CSR. Trainees from 7th and 8th batches of Hospitality – Food and Beverages took part in the programme. The activities were conducted following the initiative of the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC).

Cleanliness Drive

On 29 September 2026, a cleanliness drive was carried out at the Training Centre and its surrounding areas. The trainees joined the activity and helped clean the premises and nearby areas. The activity aimed the trainees to take greater sense of responsibility for the place where they study and work.

Poster Competition

A poster competition was held on 30 September 2026, in which 46 trainees participated. The trainees prepared posters on themes such as Swachhata, Clean India, Waste Management and Reduce-Reuse-Recycle. Through their drawings and messages, they shared ideas on proper waste disposal, environmental protection, recycling and responsible use of resources. The competition gave the trainees an opportunity to express their understanding of these issues through art and simple messages.

Debate

On the same day (30.09.2026), a debate was organised on the topic “Are citizens the primary culprits or the victims of poor system management?”

A total of 10 trainees participated in the debate. Different views were presented by the participants. Some spoke about the responsibility of citizens and their everyday habits, while others highlighted the need for proper systems, infrastructure and public services. The discussion brought out different sides of the issue and helped the trainees understand that better communities require both responsible citizens and effective public systems.

The trainees were able to take part in Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 through practical work, creative expression and discussion through the three activities. The programme also provided a space for them to reflect on waste management, environmental responsibility and their own role in the community. Along with skill training and employment opportunities, CDS continues to encourage young people to develop a sense of responsibility towards their workplace, environment and community.

As part of the Vocational Training Centre for Youth (VTCY) project implemented by Community Development Society (CDS) with support from IndiGo CSR, an exposure visit was organised for the Hospitality – Food & Beverage trainees of CDS Skill Centre on 29 September 2026 at Providence Guest House, New Lamka, Churachandpur.

Exposure visits form an important part of the training programme at CDS Skill Centre. The visit was organised to provide trainees with an opportunity to step outside the classroom and gain a better understanding of how the hospitality sector functions in an actual workplace.

During the visit, the trainees observed the day-to-day operations of the guest house and learned about guest services, food and beverage service, workplace discipline, hygiene, communication and other aspects of hospitality operations. They also had the opportunity to interact with the staff and learn from their practical experience.

The visit helped the trainees connect what they had learned during their classroom and practical sessions with actual workplace practices. It also gave them a clearer understanding of professional behaviour, service standards and the responsibilities expected of employees in the hospitality industry.

Such industry exposure is regularly incorporated into the training at CDS Skill Centre to strengthen the practical knowledge and workplace readiness of trainees before they enter employment.
